When you send an email to Posterous, the domain you send the email to determines which Space it is posted on. The domain is the part of the email address to the right of the “@” symbol.

When you email post@posterous.com, your email will be published to the primary Space on your Posterous account. If you only have one Space, that’s your primary! If you have more than one, it’s the first one you created.

You can also choose which Posterous site to post to by using that Space address to the left of the “@” in the email address.

  10. I can't post photos to my Spaces

To post media to your Space from the post editor, you must have Adobe Flash installed. To install Flash, click here.

  11. My post appears different from how I composed it

Differences in formatting can occur because of differences in the way some programs display your post and the HTML we display as your post on your Posterous Space. The conversion between the two is sometimes imperfect.

Instead of composing messages in a word processor and then copy and pasting it into your email client (or the Web Editor), we recommend composing your posts directly in your email client.

We’re constantly trying to improve our text processing to make sure your post appears just as you intended. If you see consistent errors, please email us at help@posterous.com and include the email

  12. Using the Posterous Bookmarklet

Using the Posterous Bookmarklet, you can post about interesting, funny, or shareworthy things as you surf the web. Click here and follow the instructions on the page to drag the Share on Posterous link to your browser’s bookmark bar.

You can then click it on any website and it will automatically grab an excerpt from the site you are browsing on and allow you to add a comment and then post it to the space of your choice.

  13. What is a guest post?

Guest posts are posts submitted by non-members of that Space. Each Space has its own designated posting email. For instance, blog.posterous.com can be posted to by emailing blog@posterous.com or post@blog.posterous.com.

If you allow guest posting, anyone who emails that email will have the ability to submit a post to your Space with your approval.

You can find unmoderated guest posts in your Dashboard and choose to Approve or Delete them.
